What goes hand in hand with the study of medicine are textbooks and atlases. They can be rented, bought or e-booked. Each one suits differently, some prefer paper, some prefer electronic - in this situation it is definitely worth investing in a tablet where you can take notes and draw anatomical diagrams. Notebooks, highlighters or all sorts of writing utensils are a must, you couldn't do without them!
In the first year, most medical schools have anatomy scheduled in the syllabus - for this you are usually required to wear a white coat, which is an essential part of the whole course. Outside of that, slippers are also often required.

In the dissection room, you get to do the actual dissection, and you can't do that without a dissection kit! The change comes with the advent of clinical subjects. The earliest a medical student is likely to encounter the subject of propedeutics.
